Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher to deliver instruction to assigned classes, prepare lesson plans, and monitor student progress. The teacher will promote a positive learning environment, maintain attendance and records, and communicate with parents as required.

Under school supervision, duties include applying effective teaching methods, evaluating objectives, and participating in professional development and in-service meetings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements.
• Knowledge of classroom and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction with written lesson plans aligned to instructional program objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Apply learning theories and diverse instructional materials.
• Coordinate and attend class field trips and after-school activities.
