Qualifications

• Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Creates an educational environment conducive to learning and prepares instructional materials.
• Maintains classroom behavior and management inside and outside the school.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports to parents and staff.
• Plans curriculum and lessons to meet individual student needs within state and school requirements.
• Confers with parents and staff to develop educational programs.
• Creates learning materials geared to students' abilities and interests.
• Instructs students using strategies to improve sensory motor and perceptual-motor development, language and cognition.
• Motivates students and provides ongoing assessment and feedback.
• Maintains records as required by law and district regulations.
• Sponsors student activities and tutors as requested.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
