Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking licensed teachers to provide professional instruction across designated grades and subject areas, fostering academic, social, physical, and skills development to prepare students for the 21st century.

You will plan engaging lessons, establish positive classroom management, assess progress on a regular timetable, communicate with parents and administrators, and maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree with endorsement in the grade/subject taught and a valid Tennessee certificate.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
• Proof of education, training and/or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Creates an educational environment conducive to learning and prepares instructional materials.
• Establishes classroom behavior standards and maintains management in and outside the school.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports to parents/administrators.
• Plans curriculum and lessons to meet individual needs per state and district requirements.
• Confers with parents and staff to develop educational programs.
