Job summary

LUBBOCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Teacher to join the PreK-12 program under the Teacher Salary Schedule. This exempt, 10-month position reports to the Principal and supports student growth through approved instructional strategies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, along with demonstrated subject competency and classroom management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• At least one-year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Present material reflecting students’ learning styles and needs.
• Plan instructional strategies and materials and use assessments to guide instruction.
• Work with special education staff to adapt curricula for IEPs.
• Collaborate with staff to set goals and methods for district requirements.
• Supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteers and integrate technology where appropriate.
• Maintain open communication with parents and colleagues.
