Job summary

Fox TV Stations invites applications for a Broadcast Stagehand (Per Diem Part Time) at FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus in the Washington, DC area. You will support daily productions from lighting to scenic elements, ensuring a safe and functional studio and occasional remote locations.

The role requires hands-on setup, teardown, and collaboration with a skilled production team. We expect a minimum of 3 years in live broadcast or theatre settings, with a high school diploma and a preferred

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-4 year college/technical degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of recent, relevant experience as a stagehand, set technician, or similar role in live broadcast or production.
Valid local driver’s license (DC, MD, VA) and ability to drive with a clean MVR/insurance eligibility.

Responsibilities

Scene Management: position and operate studio scenes and sets, including setup and takedown.
Maintenance & Repair: routinely maintain and repair scenic elements and equipment.
Lighting Operation: assist with placement and operation of studio lighting.
Tool Competence: safely use hand and power tools for set work.
Technical Communication: keep up with emails and training on studio systems.
Logistics & Travel: occasional travel between locations as needed.
Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
