Job summary

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking a Broadcast Stagehand (Per Diem Part-Time) to support daily productions. The role covers studio scenes setup, lighting, and on-site logistics, with occasional travel to remote locations to ensure safe and compelling productions.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of relevant experience in live broadcast, theater, or production environments; driving is required with a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• A 2-4 year college/technical degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scene Management: set up and operate studio scenes and sets as needed.
• Maintenance & repair of scenic elements, structures, and studio equipment.
• Lighting Operation: assist with placement and operation of lighting devices.
• Tool Competence: use hand and power tools safely for set construction and repair.
• Technical Communication: use computers, email, and be trained on new studio systems.
• Logistics & Travel: occasional travel between locations to support productions.
• Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
