Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate.
• Demonstrated competency in instrumental music.
• Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate.
• Reading by Design - Dyslexia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct instrumental performers, including marching band, orchestra, concert band, soloists, and ensembles.
• Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify student eligibility.
• Provide for band participation at extracurricular events (concerts, games, parades, UIL).
• Develop and implement district curriculum-aligned plans with accommodations.
• Plan instructional strategies and reflect learning styles and needs.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Manage instructional goals and assess program effectiveness with data.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and positive behavior.
• Coordinate budget, inventory, and fundraising; supervise transport and meals for trips.
