Job summary

FirstCash is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Houston to lead daily store operations, develop staff, and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction. The role combines hourly pay with productivity-based commissions and store-performance bonuses.

You will handle cash, protect assets, manage inventory, and ensure adherence to FirstCash standards while delivering excellent service. Flexibility, weekend work, and a commitment to growth are required.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods, including standing, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Assistant Store Managers will work 40+ hours a week with hours not guaranteed.
• Experience with cash handling and basic computer/POS tasks is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
• Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
• Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, counting cash drawers and merchandise and ensuring asset protection.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Manage inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Ensure operating standards meet FirstCash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of loans issued.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
• Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of mission and profit objectives.
• Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the Store Manager's absence.
