Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore in Owings Mills is seeking an Assistant Head Coach to lead the age-group program and summer swim team, oversee team administration, and uphold safety standards across programming, facilities, and equipment.

You will develop the Barracuda Swim Team year-round and summer league, coordinate practices and meets, and mentor coaches while fostering a positive, inclusive environment for swimmers.

Qualifications

• Current USA Foundation of Swim Coach level 1 (or higher)
• Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certifications
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches and Concussion Protocol Training
• Athlete Protection Training; USA Swimming certifications as needed
• Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer the JCC Barracuda Swim Team (year-round and summer league)
• Conduct team tryouts and advise on placement
• Attend practices, meetings, and events; supervise staff
• Plan and deliver engaging practice sessions suited to swimmer levels
• Manage team logistics, entries, timing systems, and meet setups
• Mentor and support coaching staff; ensure safety and compliance
