Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach to help develop and implement the JCC Swim Team under the Head Swim Coach. The role focuses on organizing workouts, providing guidance, and supporting young swimmers across Novice to Age group levels.

Primary duties include leading instruction, collaborating with fellow coaches, and attending meets and events while upholding the JCC’s values of inclusivity and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Current American Red Cross First Aid Certification.
• Current American Red Cross Community CPR certification, or equivalent.
• One year or more of swim team experience preferred; USA Coaching Certification preferred.
• Ability to teach proper competitive swimming techniques.
• Knowledge of sound competitive swimming skills and how to teach them positively.
• Knowledge of basic exercise and diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides competitive swimming instruction to swim team members in Novice to Age group swimming groups.
• Organizes and conducts team workouts.
• Works effectively with other coaches as assigned.
• Provides motivation, support and guidance.
• Works hand in hand with the Head Coach.
• Attends swim meets and swim team functions as agreed with the Head Coach.
