WGAL News 8, part of Hearst Television, seeks an Anchor/Reporter to energize the anchor desk with dynamic live reporting across multiplatform content. The role requires enterprise reporting, field duties, and a strong on-air presence.

The ideal candidate will deliver credible, engaging newscasts, mentor staff, and leverage social media to expand the station’s reach. In-person attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• Past anchor experience required; 2–5 years preferred.
• Past reporting experience (2–5 years) required.
• Demonstrated ability to enterprise and uncover
• Proven Anchor with ability to connect with viewers, in addition to strong reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Delivers scripted and ad lib material with professionalism and personality.
• Plans, gathers and assembles stories on day-of news or special projects.
• Produces and posts regular vertical video and social media content.
• Develops a network of sources for tips and exclusive content.
• Uses social media and multiplatform storytelling to engage audiences.
