Job summary

WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH, is looking for an Anchor Reporter who can bring energy to the anchor desk, enterprise exclusives, and deliver compelling live reporting under tight deadlines.

You will write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, mentor reporters and producers, develop sources, and appear at public events, while upholding integrity and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience
• 2+ years of reporting experience
• Demo reel reflects everyday work
• Anchor connects with viewers in addition to reporting skills
• Operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology
• Can work in all weather conditions, varied shifts including overnights/weekends
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethics
• In-person attendance required

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism and purpose
• Guide reporters and producers in newscast production
• Plan, gather and assemble stories on day-of news or special projects
• Develop stories with enterprise angles and exclusive content
• Build a network of sources for tips and early access
• Appear at public events on behalf of the station
• Contribute visuals and text updates to mobile platforms
• Manage multiple stories and meet deadlines
• Summarize information into clear components
