Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher for Disney II Magnet School in Chicago. The role involves planning instructional lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining accurate records in alignment with CPS standards.

Under the supervision of the principal, you will communicate with parents about academic progress, attend in-service meetings, and support anti-vandalism and attendance initiatives while fostering a positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Possession of a valid Illinois teaching license: PEL or ELS, endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and effective teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instructional lessons aligned to objectives and maintain records of pupil progress.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and conduct; participate in conferences.
• Coordinate class field trips and after-school activities as needed; supervise students in various settings.
