Qualifications

• Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

• A. Major Function: Management of Instructional Time – teacher prepares materials, starts class promptly and keeps students on task.
• B. Major Function: Management of Student Behavior – establishes rules, monitors behavior and maintains student dignity.
• C. Major Function: Instructional Presentation – delivers lessons clearly with objectives, examples, and pacing.
• D. Major Function: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance – checks progress and uses work products.
• E. Major Function: Instructional Feedback – provides prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• F. Major Function: Facilitating Instruction – aligns objectives, strategies, and assessments with needs.
• G. Major Function: Interacting Within the Educational Environment – fair, respectful interactions.
• H. Major Function: Performing Non-Instructional Duties – performs duties, follows policies, pursues professional development.
