Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets student needs and supports Success for Every Student.
• Reports to work on time and prepares for classes and duty assignments.
• Creates a classroom environment that engages students in learning objectives.
• Provides instruction to meet diverse learners including students with disabilities.
• Prepares lesson plans and required documentation.
• Guides learning towards curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Sets objectives aligned with RCSS curriculum framework and student development.
• Uses motivating instructional methods and evaluation techniques.
• Assesses student needs and contributes to IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Maintains safety and proper use of equipment and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and RCSS policy.
• Assists administration with policies and classroom behavior rules.
• Makes time to meet with students/parents outside instructional day.
• Builds positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community.
• Plans and supervises instructional assistants and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
