Job summary

Fort Valley State University is seeking a County Extension 4-H Agent in Muscogee County to lead 4-H Youth Development programs for K-12 students. The role focuses on STEM, leadership, healthy living, and civic engagement within the Cooperative Extension Program.

The candidate will collaborate with Extension staff, coordinate summer activities, manage reports, and support advisory councils, trainings, and community partnerships. Occasional travel and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Three to five years of experience teaching youth, formal or non-formal.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Grow the program by increasing K-12th grade youth stakeholders in Muscogee County.
• Deliver positive 4-H Youth Development programming in STEM, Civic Engagement, Leadership, Agriculture, Mentoring, and Healthy Living.
• Collaborate with the Cooperative Extension staff to run summer programs and national 4-H events.
• Complete weekly and monthly reports (including Georgia Counts reports).
• Deliver in-school and after-school 4-H club meetings with engaging curriculum.
• Develop and support Community Service-Learning Projects and assist with fundraising activities.
• Establish local advisory councils to align with program needs and planning.
• Participate in annual Cooperative Extension Program activities and professional trainings.
