Job summary

Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia invites applications for the position of County Extension 4-H Agent for Peach County. This is a full-time Cooperative Extension role under the supervision of the Assistant Extension Administrator 4-H Program Leader.

The incumbent will increase youth participation in 4-H programs, deliver programming in STEM, leadership and healthy living, and coordinate summer activities and national events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Three to five years of experience with non-formal or formal teaching youths is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Increase the number of new K-12th grades youth stakeholders in the Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Program in Peach County.
• Provide positive 4-H Youth Development programming in STEM, Civic Engagement, Leadership, Novice Agriculture education, Mentoring, and Healthy Living to Youth in Peach County.
• Coordinate annual 4-H Summer Programming Activities, National 4-H Congress, National 4-H Conference, and National 4-H Ignite Summit.
• Complete Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program weekly reports, monthly 4-H reports, and Georgia Counts reports weekly.
• Implement 4-H Positive Youth Development educational program in-school and out of school 4-H club meetings.
• Be creative and innovative in designing and implementing 4-H Community Service-Learning Projects and support local fundraising activities.
• Establish local Cooperative Extension 4-H Program advisory councils to assess needs and guide program area planning.
• Participate in Annual Cooperative Extension Program activities and trainings.
• Attend a minimum of one professional development training annually.
