Qualifications

• Competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter per Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials aligned to student needs.
• Assess student learning styles and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Determine instructional goals with staff and supervise aides/volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement with formal and informal testing.
• Be a positive role model and support district mission.
• Participate in staff development and comply with regulations.
• Maintain records and participate in faculty meetings.
