Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a qualified 1st Grade Teacher for Barber Preparatory Academy in Highland Park, Michigan. The teacher will deliver engaging lessons and differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs while fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Responsibilities include maintaining progress records, integrating technology, and collaborating with staff and families to support student growth and social-emotional development within ACCEL’s charter school network.

Qualifications

• Active and current Michigan teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• High level of comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Experience supervising students in various school settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify during the year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet all students’ needs.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based practices in planning and instruction.
