ManpowerGroup is seeking a DWDM/Optical Transport Engineer to join its team in Ashburn, VA. You will provide hands-on support for the Ciena 6500 DWDM platform, deploying, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining optical transport networks in a data center environment.

Pay Range: $45/hr
What's the Job?
Support the deployment, testing, turn‑up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ciena 6500 DWDM optical transport networks within a data center environment.
Utilize optical testing and troubleshooting tools, including OTDRs, optical power meters, and VFLs, to diagnose issues and perform optical testing such as power level measurements, insertion loss testing, span validation, and signal degradation analysis.
Support and maintain optical transport infrastructure, including OLS, ROADMs, amplifiers, mux/demux systems, and transponders.
Read and interpret signal flow diagrams to troubleshoot and resolve optical network issues.
Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, workflows, and troubleshooting efficiency.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support network deployments, maintenance activities, and operational initiatives.
What's Needed?
Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with DWDM optical transport networks and Ciena 6500 DWDM platform, including deployment, testing, turn‑up, and troubleshooting.
Experience diagnosing and resolving optical issues, including signal loss, ORL, reflections, power deviations, and fiber connectivity issues.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting signal flow diagrams and using optical testing and troubleshooting tools, including OTDRs and VFLs.
Experience utilizing automation tools and workflows, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment with minimum supervision.
