We are seeking a highly skilled NOC Transport/DWDM Technician/Engineer who specializes in optical transport technologies and complex telecommunications environments. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving advanced network issues, optimizing DWDM performance, and ensuring operational excellence across transport infrastructure. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to enhance network reliability, performance, and scalability across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of critical and complex network outages and transport impairments.
• Develop and implement advanced troubleshooting methodologies for recurring DWDM and optical transport issues.
• Conduct forensic analysis of network events to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain DWDM and optical transport equipment, including OTDR testing.
• Apply optical transmission principles and network protocols during fault isolation and repair activities.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including incident reports and operational guides.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement network improvements and infrastructure enhancements.
• Oversee deployment, testing, and validation of new optical transport systems and related infrastructure.
• Analyze network performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations to improve reliability and uptime.
• Ensure transport network integrity through proactive monitoring and optical performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Strong experience and knowledge of DWDM technologies and optical transport systems.
• Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining DWDM equipment.
• Significant experience in telecommunications or network operations environments.
• At least 1-3 year of previous NOC experience is required.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) required.
• Experience providing NOC support with any of the following Transport Technologies Brand: Ciena, Fujitsu, Cyan, Cisco, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent, Infinera, Huawei.

Preferred (Optional)

• Experience leading complex outage resolution initiatives.
• Familiarity with proactive network performance monitoring tools.
• Experience participating in transport infrastructure upgrade projects.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $13-23 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
