The State of Georgia is seeking a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist in Columbus to support WorkSource Georgia services for veterans and eligible individuals. The role delivers career counseling, assessments, job search assistance, and workshop facilitation, coordinating with federal/state partners to promote training and employment opportunities.

Qualifications include a degree or substantial related experience; applicants must be a qualified veteran with DD-214.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Associate’s degree plus two years of related experience; or four years of related experience.
Applicants must be a qualified veteran with DD-214 and Disability Rating; documentation required.
Experience with workforce programs and job development is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

Provide career services including assessments, guidance, and individual employment plans.
Develop, coordinate, and present workshops on job search techniques.
Identify barriers and refer clients to appropriate supportive services.
Conduct outreach with veteran and educational organizations; travel to remote locations as needed.
Collaborate with federal, state, and local programs to promote opportunities.
