Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners externship program invites veterinary students to gain real-world clinic experience by applying classroom knowledge to patient care. Students in any year may apply for externships with a WVP Practice as part of clinical year externship blocks or for informal externship opportunities.

As an extern you’ll work closely with the supervising veterinarian, develop skills in client communication, case management, and diagnostics, and explore diverse practice environments

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the supervising veterinarian you will gain experience in all areas of practice management including client communication, taking patient histories, performing physical exams, reviewing estimates; ownership of cases by creating treatment plans and diagnostics; observing or assisting in-house labs and surgical/dental procedures.
