Job summary

Safe Horizon's DV Shelter Program provides safe, confidential spaces for survivors and their children. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, client-centered care, safety assessment, and crisis intervention within a supportive shelter environment.

Employees participate in donor tours, trainings, and essential health and safety checks, while maintaining documentation and coordinating referrals and basic client needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years relevant experience.
• Basic computer skills necessary.
• Within 3 months, obtain Fire Safety and Alarm System certifications as indicated for shelter roles.

Responsibilities

• Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
• Conduct emergency shelter intakes for site vacancies and sister sites.
• Assess immediate safety needs and develop a risk management plan.
• Provide crisis intervention including mediation and de-escalation.
