Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Crisis Counselor/Advocate under the SAFE Program to provide crisis counseling and advocacy for patients with domestic violence and sexual assault concerns. On-call coverage, safety planning, and resource linkage are key duties within GBMC’s care team.

The role requires a human service degree with possible substitution of two years of related experience; MSW or health-related master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: Human service degree; 2 years DV/SA experience acceptable.
• Preferred: Masters in Social Work or health-related field.

Responsibilities

• Meet in person with patients to provide crisis response, safety planning and referral.
• Ensure crisis response is consistent and comprehensive.
• Track, document and report on all interventions.
• Participate in ongoing continuing education.
• Participate in community outreach programs on behalf of GBMC.
