Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Duraplate Operator in Indiana to assist manufacturing of Duraplate sheets to ISO standards. You will use various tools and equipment after training and adhere to safety policies to keep lines running smoothly.

The role requires basic math, reading gauges, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will work independently or with teammates and support continuous improvement on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED equivalent required; basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
• General computer skills (Excel and Word) needed.
• Strong math skills required for measurements and tolerances.
• Ability to read and use calipers and gauging equipment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Able to exercise independent judgment when performing responsibilities.
• Work to meet Wabash and ISO standards.
• Promote Winning Together mentality and share information for safety.
• Copes with unexpected events and meets production priorities.
• Work independently or with others on the production floor.
• Ability to stand and lift heavy loads as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the manufacture of Duraplate sheets by applicable Wabash and ISO standards.
• Report defects and repairs needs to production and maintenance leadership.
• Wear PPE at all times (gloves, glasses, PPE, etc.).
• Work from various heights to ensure line runs properly.
• Work in adverse climate conditions (hot, cold, loud).
• Work in small spaces; kneeling or bending for extended periods.
• Operate equipment after training: Walk Behind, Hoist, SAP, Push/Pull systems, harness, crane, torque wrenches, hand tools.
• Demonstrate Wabash Values and Leadership Principles daily.
• Flex work schedule per production needs and follow safety policies.
