Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in the United States is seeking a Durability Evaluation Engineer II to lead full-vehicle durability testing at a proving ground.

You will work with the Durability Department to test Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models for North America, aligning tests to customer expectations and environment, while supporting safety, warranty cost reductions, and brand image. You will perform incidents follow-up, inspections, data collection, and analysis; develop

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering preferred
• 4+ years experience in vehicle testing and development
• 2+ years’ experience in automotive proving ground environment preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
• Proficiency with data and numerical analysis tools such as MATLAB, R, Python, etc.
• Proficient in the usage of automotive data acquisition tools and sensors
• Proficient in issue investigation and root cause analysis
• Proficient project management skills
• Proficient time management and organization skills
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform daily follow-up of vehicle incidents reported by test drivers and technicians.
• Complete static and dynamic vehicle inspections on a periodic basis.
• Coordinate inspections of used vehicles on-site and in field.
• Monitor field durability issues from warranty claims and other sources.
• Install and configure data acquisition equipment and analyze results.
• Support data collection requests for test mode development and research.
• Develop procedures to organize tasks and responsibilities.
• Complete administrative tasks and plan project work.
• Provide North American customer perspective on environment and expectations.
