Durability Evaluation Engineer to lead full-vehicle durability testing at our automotive proving ground in California, aligning testing with NA customer expectations and coordinating with Program Management and QA/QC to secure resources. The role demands 6+ years in vehicle testing and 2+ years in proving ground environments, plus strong data analysis, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems)
• 6+ years experience in vehicle testing and development
• 2+ years experience in automotive proving ground environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with data and numerical analysis tools (MATLAB, R, Python)

Responsibilities

• Perform daily follow-up of vehicle incidents and elevate important reports to issue status.
• Complete static and dynamic vehicle inspections and quantify degradation.
• Conceive and report research projects and measurement programs for durability.
• Develop full-vehicle durability test programs and secure budget/resources.
• Design and oversee proving ground test facilities and document budgets.
• Coordinate inspections of used vehicles and report real-world data.
• Monitor field durability issues from warranty, claims, and other sources.
• Install and configure data acquisition equipment and analyze results.
• Support data collection requests for CAE model correlation and research.
• Develop procedures to organize tasks for staff and communicate clearly.
• Complete administrative tasks and oversee project work such as asset purchases.
