Job summary

BARNHILL CONTRACTING COMPANY is seeking a dependable Truck Driver (CDL‑B) to operate a dump truck and safely deliver asphalt, borrow material, excavation, and stone base to multiple project sites. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, timely material transport, and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

• One year of truck driving experience or willingness to be trained.
• CDL Class B license.
• Valid Medical Card.
• Minimum age 19.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and safety rules.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and a team player.
• Good attendance and safety record.
• Tanker endorsement preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Operate a dump truck, but not limited to that type of truck.
• Perform pre-trip inspections on the truck.
• Transport and deliver construction materials to projects in a timely manner.
• May perform other duties or operate other types of trucks.
• Complete required paperwork with adequate reading and writing skills.

Essential Tasks

• Standing, walking, and driving for long periods while staying alert.
• Climb steps and stairs to access truck, and work in elevated temperatures due to weather and materials.
• Operate equipment at recommended speeds and perform safe maneuvering in congested areas.
• Clean debris and materials from the tailgate area and sides of the truck as needed.
• Climb in and out of the truck several times a day using handholds and steps with three points of contact.
• Conduct accurate pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, including hood manipulation.
• Squat and bend from time to time.
