Job summary

SICK AG offers a 3-year dual study programme in Mechatronics starting on 01.09.2027 at our Donaueschingen location in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Cooperative State University.

You will gain diverse insights across Production, R&D and Application Development, working at the interface of mechanical/electrical engineering, automation and IT. The apprenticeship includes hands-on project work, CAD design with EPLAN and SolidWorks, and programming in C/C++.

• Strong interest in mechanics, electronics and computer science.
• Excellent maths and physics skills.
• Ability to work in a team and take responsibility.
• German language skills at C1 level.

• Participate in product and equipment development for production.

Dual study programme 2027: Mechatronics (B.E)

3-year dual study programme in Mechatronics starting on 01.09.2027 at our Donaueschingen location in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Cooperative State University.

What you can expect

• Diverse insights and collaboration in various departments such as Production, Research & Development and Application Development
• Work at the interface between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation technology and IT
• Working with our sensors in various areas of the product development process as well as in the realisation of customer requirements, e.g. in applications
• Design and testing of mechatronic systems

• Production planning and quality assurance
• The tools used include simulation programmes, CAD programmes such as E-PLAN and Solid Works, programming in various languages such as C/C++ and MS Office applications
• Programme content: Mathematics, fundamentals of mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronic systems, automation systems, actuators and sensors

What you need

• A-levels, specialised university entrance qualification, university of applied sciences entrance qualification (plus passing the delta exam at the DHBW) or comparable training
• Strong interest in mechanics, electronics and computer science
• Spatial awareness and accuracy
• Good performance in maths and physics as well as an understanding of technology and science
• Enthusiasm for innovation and interest in the technologies in our company
• Analytical way of working and solution-orientation
• Ability to work in a team and willingness to take on responsibility
• Good German language skills (language level C1), see admission requirements of the dual university
