  • Investigate recurring engineering, manufacturing, and quality issues by collecting and organizing relevant data.
  • Support root-cause analysis efforts and identify trends impacting product performance, manufacturability, or operational efficiency.
  • Help maintain and organize engineering improvement backlogs, technical debt lists, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist engineering teams in evaluating and prioritizing improvement opportunities based on customer impact, business value, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineers to understand how various disciplines contribute to product success.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Learn how customer requirements, engineering decisions, manufacturing capabilities, and business objectives are connected.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements, standardization opportunities, and documentation enhancements.
  • Work closely with a manager and mentor to develop professional engineering skills and industry knowledge.
  • Present internship findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
  • Pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field.
  • Interest in product development, manufacturing, engineering processes, or continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, product documentation, and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable gathering information from multiple sources and documenting findings clearly.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering teams.
