Job summary

Groves Veterinary Clinic in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a versatile veterinary professional to support both reception and technician duties. You will greet clients, triage inquiries, schedule visits, and assist veterinarians with patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires at least 2 years in a general veterinary practice, with preference for candidates who have worked at reception and in clinical tech tasks. IDEXX equipment experience and AVImark familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a general veterinary practice.
• Experience in both reception and technician roles preferred.
• Strong technical skills: animal restraint and venipuncture.
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and common procedures.
• IDEXX equipment experience preferred.
• AVImark experience preferred, but not required.
• Compassionate, calm, team-oriented, able to multitask.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Highly organized with strong computer skills.
• Able to transition between front-desk and patient-care roles.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and manage reception duties.
• Answer phones, emails, triage concerns, and schedule appointments.
• Process payments and check-in/out.
• Provide compassionate support to clients during times of need.
• Communicate with clients about pets’ care and medical outcomes.
• Maintain the cleanliness and visual appeal of the reception area.
• Provide hands-on patient care and assist veterinarians with appointments and procedures.
• Safely perform animal restraint and assist with venipuncture and sample prep.
• Operate IDEXX equipment and maintain lab procedures.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to deliver high-quality patient care.
