Job summary

Vertical Builders is seeking a dependable Drafting and Purchasing Associate to support architectural drafting and purchasing for two essential areas of our homebuilding process. You will produce accurate master and lot-specific construction documents while maintaining budgets, takeoffs, and purchase orders, collaborating with Architectural Services and Purchasing teams.

The role requires attention to detail, proficiency in AutoCAD, and ability to handle repeatable technical work in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required.
• Experience with residential construction drafting, purchasing, estimating, takeoffs, or budgeting is preferred.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete repeatable tasks consistently.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain master and lot-specific construction plans.
• Prepare and maintain takeoffs, budgets, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate roof truss, floor truss, and floor joist layouts with suppliers.
• Assist PKO meetings and update plans and budgets.
• Maintain master and community budgets and takeoffs as plans and pricing change.
• Monitor cost variables and vendor pricing to prevent margin erosion.
