Job summary

Green Brick Partners, Inc. in Plano, TX seeks an Architectural Drafter to maintain and edit CAD files, construction documents, floor plans and renderings for Trophy Signature Homes. The role focuses on accuracy and code compliance.

You will collaborate with purchasing, marketing and construction, manage plan changes, and produce full construction documents under guidance from the VP of Purchasing. Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, plus rendering tools, is required.

Qualifications

• College degree helpful but not necessary; Project Management certification helpful; basic computer skills required.
• 1 year of residential architecture experience.
• 1 year AutoCAD experience required.
• 1 year REVIT experience required.
• Architectural rendering/Graphic design preferred (Enscape, Lumion or 3ds Max).
• Autodesk Review experience preferred.

Job description

The Architectural Drafter must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

This position consists of maintaining and editing all CAD related files including construction documents, floor plans and architectural renderings for Trophy Signature Homes.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or create and maintain all DWG files within AutoCad.
• Must be able to review and identify plan inaccuracies related to code and Trophy specifications.
• Collaborative review process with another Cad drafter.
• Work with sales, marketing, purchasing and construction to review and markup plans for future changes.
• Track, review and complete approved plan changes.
• Review completed documents received by outside consultants including framing, floor system, renderings, brochures and architectural plans.
• Architectural rendering/Graphic design

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Requirements: N/A

Working Relationships Inside the Company: V.P. of Purchasing, Estimators, Purchasing Dept., Marketing, Starts.

Working Relationships Outside the Company: Architects/Designers, Structural Engineers, Vendors/Trades, Marketing vendors.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Location

Plano Corporate Office, this is not a remote position.

Qualifications

• College degree helpful but not necessary, any Project Management certification helpful, basic computer skills required.

Experience

• 1 year of residential architecture experience.
• 1 year’s AutoCAD experience required.
• 1 year REVIT experience required.
• Architectural rendering/Graphic design preferred (E.g. Enscape, Lumion or 3ds Max).
• Autodesk Review experience preferred.

Competencies

• Must possess the ability to produce full construction documents and create new floor plans/elevations with directions from the V.P. of Purchasing.
• Knowledge of the homebuilding industry required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must possess good communication skills.
• Must be able to set priorities and react to time-critical work.
• Must manage and track each project to completion.
