Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support BHMG Primary Care in Richmond, KY. The role blends clinical and administrative tasks, including patient history, vitals, EPIC navigation, scheduling, and medication refill coordination.

The MA participates in prior authorizations, tests, and interviews with patients, pharmacies and insurers while upholding Baptist Health's service values. AHA BLS and MA certification/licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of one year of direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Successful completion of MA orientation and clinical competency assessment; MA Trainee Program if standards not met.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Current MA certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT or active LPN/RN licensure in the state.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care activities across clinical and administrative duties.
• Document patient history, vitals, medications and assist with clinic procedures.
• Navigate EPIC EHR, schedule and follow-up on appointments and tests; assist with medication fills and prior authorizations.
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients and physicians with professionalism and accuracy.
