Job summary

A Thrive Education Partners tutor is sought to support two students in Austin, TX, one an 8th grader preparing for Upper Level ISEE and one a 5th grader preparing for Lower Level ISEE. Sessions are back-to-back for two one-hour blocks, allowing focused, individualized instruction for each student.

The tutor will assess current strengths, gaps, and readiness across English and math, develop tailored prep plans, and teach target strategies to improve reading, vocabulary, and math skills across two

Qualifications

Experience tutoring upper-elementary or middle school students.
Prior ISEE prep or similar admissions test prep.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial assessments across ISEE content areas.
Develop targeted preparation plans for each student.
Provide instruction in vocabulary, reading, mathematics, and quantitative reasoning at appropriate levels.
Teach test‑taking strategies and pacing for each student.
Use practice questions and timed sections to monitor progress.
Analyze results from practice tests to adjust instruction.
Build a strong, trusting relationship with each student.
Manage back-to-back 1‑hour sessions with two students.
Communicate progress and next steps with the family and Thrive team.
Adjust instruction when needed based on performance and practice results.
