Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a Dual Language MTSS Specialist to lead literacy, math, and behavior support within a multi-tier system. You will work with the district and school teams to implement MTSS, guide data-driven instruction, and coach staff in progress monitoring.

Ideal candidates bring a valid Illinois PEL with K-9, early childhood, and Spanish endorsements, plus strong Spanish language proficiency and experience with bilingual education and curriculum

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with K-9 general education, early childhood, and Spanish bilingual endorsement.
• Fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written at a high level.
• Experience with bilingual education programs and teaching strategies.
• Strong background in curriculum design, planning, and instruction.
• Commitment to rigor in dual language education and data-driven practice.
• Experience using data to inform instruction and MTSS processes.

Responsibilities

• Teach approved Dual Language curriculum to Dual Language students.
• Serve as liaison for MTSS between district literacy and math efforts and school implementation.
• Assist administrators in implementing MTSS using balanced assessments for literacy, math, and behavior.
• Collaborate with principal to lead the MTSS instructional team.
• Convene MTSS team meetings and guide team members with planning and coaching.
• Guide staff on MTSS progress monitoring setup, data collection, and scheduling.
• Monitor and report student achievement data from multi-tier assessments.
• Utilize data to inform instructional planning and monitor intervention effectiveness.
• Collaborate with certified and classified staff to improve student achievement.
• Support schools in developing strategic plans for intervention and growth.

Job description

• Teach approved Dual Language curriculum to Dual Language students
• Serve as a liaison for MTSS between the district’s literacy and math efforts and the school’s implementation
• Assist district and school administrators in the implementation of multi-tier systems of support using balanced assessments to inform literacy, math and behavior.
• Collaborate with principal to provide leadership for the school’s MTSS instructional team.
• Convene regular meetings of the school’s MTSS instructional team, and guide the efforts of team members, providing leadership, motivation, and coaching in the planning and implementation of all team roles and responsibilities associated with MTSS program initiatives.
• Guide building staff with MTSS progress monitoring assessment set-up, data collection, and assessment schedules.
• Monitor and report out student achievement data associated with the multi-tier assessments
• Utilize data to inform instructional planning and monitor the effectiveness of academic and behavior instruction at the core, supplemental, and intensive instruction/intervention levels
• Collaborate with certified and classified staff in school to improve student achievement.
• Assists schools in developing strategic plans for intervention and growth for all students.
• Develop and inform students of reasonable rules concerning classroom procedures and behavior and maintains a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Illinois PEL with general education (K-9) and early childhood and bilingual endorsement (Spanish)
• High oral and written fluency in the target language (Spanish)
• Knowledge of bilingual education programs and teaching strategies/techniques
• Knowledge and experience with curriculum design, planning, and instruction
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an academically rigorous dual language education program
• Demonstrated knowledge of data-driven instruction
