Job Scope

The Dual Enrollment Student Liaison serves as a primary resource and point of contact for students participating in the Accelerated College Education (ACE) program and related dual enrollment initiatives at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. This position coordinates communications, outreach, enrollment and onboarding support, and advising services for students, families, school districts, and Career and Technology Centers. The Liaison helps students understand how dual enrollment credits, SOAR agreements, and program-to-program articulation agreements apply to Penn Highlands programs of study and support their academic, career, and workforce goals. The position advises students participating in the Associate in High School program, Certificate in High School programs, and Black Bear Academy; collaborates with internal departments to support consistent student experiences and articulation opportunities; and contributes to assessment activities, program quality, and compliance with applicable NACEP standards. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with high school administrators, faculty, staff, and other educational partners is an essential component of the role, which requires regular engagement at partner high schools.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Admissions and Outreach, creates communication plans for families, students, and school districts, informing these stakeholders on how dual enrollment credits translate into degree requirements.
  • Supports and participates in ACE recruitment, enrollment, and onboarding events, as part of the School Partnerships team.
  • Develops and implements advising strategies for students at different credit thresholds.
  • Creates pathway roadmaps per partnering school district, showing how dual enrollment credits are applied to Penn Highlands programs of study.
  • Provides career and educational exploration opportunities to high school students, helping them identify academic or workforce goals.
  • In coordination with Admissions, conducts information sessions and outreach events for students, families/supporters, and high school staff explain dual enrollment programming, benefits, expectations, and workforce readiness skills.
  • Coordinates and communicates with the Career and Technology Centers (CTCs) to inform students of the SOAR and program-to-program articulation agreements that will assist students in post‑secondary education.
  • Coordinate closely with internal college departments (i.e. Academic Affairs, Registrar’s Office, etc.) to assist in identifying areas for program‑to‑program articulation agreements with local CTCs, advocate for dual‑enrollment students, and ensure a high‑quality and consistent student experience
  • Collaborates with Academic Affairs to ensure compliance with assessment activities and NACEP standards.
  • Advises students in the Associate in High School program, Certificate in High School programs, and Black Bear Academy as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, social sciences, or related field required.

Experience & Knowledge:
  • Experience in secondary or higher education preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats to a wide variety of audiences and potential ability to build strong working relationships with educational partners.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn College specific software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • PA Sate Police Criminal Background Clearance
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Criminal History Clearance
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to use personal vehicle for business travel.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent sitting.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, operate a computer, and drive a vehicle.
  • Occasional lifting up to 10lbs.
