Qualifications

• Two years of experience related to alcohol and drug abuse treatment or prevention, plus at least one year serving mentally ill individuals.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling or Addiction Services is required.
• Two years of advanced education (60 units) in psychology, sociology, or related field may substitute for two years of experience.
• A CAS/CADC/MICA certification may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing specialized mental health, drug and alcohol services for the dually diagnosed.
• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions with clients and their families.
• Facilitate alcohol and drug treatment groups for mentally ill clients.
• Prepare and administer recovery plans with client support from staff.
• Maintain and collect relevant social data on clients.
