Job summary

Napa County is seeking an experienced Alcohol & Drug Counselor III to join Behavioral Health within the Health and Human Services Agency. The role covers advanced clinical counseling, assessments, and care coordination across the SUD continuum, with a focus on person-centered, trauma-informed care.

The incumbent will perform complex clinical assignments, provide outreach and education, and may assist with data quality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of alcoholism and drug counseling experience in a state certified program.
• Equivalency: graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in psychology, social work, counseling or closely related field.
• Certification requirements must be obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical counseling and community-based services including individual, family, and group counseling.
• Conduct assessments, care planning, and care coordination across the SUD continuum.
• Maintain timely documentation in the electronic health record and provide education, consultation, and presentations on SUD treatment and recovery.
