Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a System Analyst II to support and implement IT systems across its healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare and technology, with at least five years of experience and a minimum of two years as a Systems Analyst.

Overview

The System Analyst II researches, analyzes, and supports the application(s), related hardware, and how the broader ITS Systems will fit the needs of the Health System and/or specific department needs. The analyst works with department management and teams to build, install, and support the applications, understanding systems requirements. Primary responsibilities include analyzing workflows and understanding policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations. The analyst coordinates all issues that arise during projects, providing detailed investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality. A key activity is to work with users to determine project needs, develop proposals, and recommend opportunities for technological and workflow improvement. They serve as the primary contact to support the implementation of new projects and upgrades, and to troubleshoot problems and questions from end‑users during training, go‑live and post go‑live periods. Attention to detail is critical for this position. Successful candidates have an interest in emerging technologies and enjoy working with people to identify how technology can effectively support business needs.

    • Supports the implementation and maintenance of applications, related IT systems, and hardware, including analysis, planning and preparation.

    • Creates and maintains regular status reports to Manager.
  • Documentation
    • Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configures the system accordingly.
  • Other
    • Provides training to other IT staff and user clients as appropriate.
Qualifications

Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in Healthcare and/or technology strongly preferred. A minimum of two to three years’ experience as a Systems Analyst is required. Ability to analyze workflow to recommend and develop application solutions, research and interpret data, and report, prepare and present data. Healthcare or Epic experience preferred.

Special Skills: Ability to work independently, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and manage simultaneous tasks; strong communication, problem‑solving and creative solution‑development skills. Strong organizational, listening and innovative thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to inspire others. High level of customer service skills and collaborative teamwork, capable of taking a leadership role in managing end‑user relationships. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required.

Customer Focus: Acts as a preceptor to junior employees, seeks feedback from customers to identify improvement opportunities and continually works to improve the customer experience.

Problem Solving: Applies problem‑solving techniques to determine root causes, collects data, surfaces problems as improvement opportunities, takes accountability, and presents possible solutions to management while seeking collaboration across teams.

Innovation: Identifies potential opportunities to improve work or outcomes, using standard work and documented workflows for continuous improvement.

Adaptability: Adapts plans in response to changing objectives, conditions, priorities or opportunities, seeks guidance amid ambiguity, and proactively adjusts strategies.

Physical Demand: Travel to multiple YNHHS facilities is necessary.
