Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Newland/Linville/Bakersville. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

The role offers paid training and opportunities for advancement. Starting pay is $16.00–$18.00 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments for those averaging 20+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal and driving record checks
• Willingness to assist with personal care needs
• Experience with disabilities not required; paid training provided

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and help individuals achieve personal goals
• Assist with daily living tasks (meals, hygiene, housekeeping)
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication
• Encourage independence and skill development
• Monitor health and safety in a supportive environment
• Communicate with the Abound Health team and families as needed
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
