Catholic Charities-Dept For Persons With Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor to support residents in our group homes. This per diem role offers flexible shifts (morning, evening, and overnight) with a base pay of $20.49–$21.49 per hour.

Full-time benefits apply for 30+ hours per week. You will assist residents with personal care, safety, medication assistance, documentation, transportation, and participation in community activities, while

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license is required.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise individuals in personal care activities (bathing/toileting).
• Participate in cleaning, cooking and life skills with residents.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Maintain daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours: Per Diem (Mon-Fri 7:00am-10:30am, Evenings 3:00pm-11:00pm, or Overnights 11:00pm-7:00am)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities

Requirements

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license
