Job summary

Catholic Charities seeks a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor to assist adults with ID/DD in group homes. You will support personal care, daily living activities, and medication administration, in a compassionate, team-based environment.

The part-time role offers weekend shifts (Sat 12:00pm-8:00pm, Sun 7:00am-3:00pm) with a compensation structure described as regular and weekend pay rates. Training provided and benefits available.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Help meet residents' health, safety and welfare in group homes.
• Assist with personal care, meal prep, and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to programs using agency vehicles; document services daily.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours: Part-time 16 hours per week, (Saturday 12:00pm - 8:00pm, Sunday 7:00am - 3:00pm)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities

Requirements

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent
• A valid (non-provisional) driver's license
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.
