Job summary
Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist an individual in the New Wilmington area with high‑level personal care, transfers, and supervision. This role emphasizes lifting capability and experience handling complex medical and behavioral needs.
Caregivers may take on extra hours with other clients to expand their schedule. Starting pay ranges from $19 to $23 per hour, with flexible schedules, paid onboarding and training, weekly pay, and opportunities for advancement within
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Comfortable providing high‑level personal care.
- Ability to lift and perform full‑assist transfers (required).
- Willingness to support tube‑feeding and medical routines (training provided).
Responsibilities
- Provide full assistance with transfers and mobility.
- Support personal care needs including bathing, toileting, and hygiene.
- Monitor health and safety, especially seizure activity.
- Assist with tube‑feeding and medications.
- Support communication using an iPad and non‑verbal cues.
- Maintain a calm, structured environment with behavioral support.
- Document services and communicate with Abound team and families.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
