Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a New Wilmington area client requiring high-level personal care and transfers. The role emphasizes lifting capability and behavior support, with opportunities for additional hours across clients.

Starting pay is $19–$23 per hour, with flexible schedules, paid onboarding and training, weekly pay, referral bonuses, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven I/DD company with 20+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Comfortable providing high-level personal care.
• Ability to lift and perform full-assist transfers (required).
• Willingness to support tube-feeding and medical routines (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide full assistance with transfers and mobility (non-ambulatory client).
• Support all personal care needs, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene.
• Monitor health and safety, especially related to seizure activity.
• Assist with tube-feeding for all food and medications.
• Support communication using an iPad, picture selection, and non-verbal cues.
• Maintain a calm, structured environment and provide medium-level behavioral support.
• Document services and communicate with Abound team members and families.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
