Job summary

YAI is hiring a Direct Support Professional to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Queens. The candidate will provide crucial direct care services, ensuring the safety and wellness of those supported.

This role promotes community integration and requires a high school diploma or GED. YAI offers flexible schedules including full-time and part-time positions, and various benefits including medical insurance and tuition reimbursement.

Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $18.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus.
• Valid NY State Driver's License may be required.
• Tuberculosis test is mandatory for most positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services, including personal care assistance.
• Ensure the health, safety, and wellness of supported individuals.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals.
• Participate in the development of treatment plans.
