Job summary

Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel seeks a Cage Manager to oversee all cage operations, ensure strong internal controls, and safeguard assets. The role includes supervising staff, handling daily deposits, and maintaining records in line with casino policies.

The position requires education in accounting or related fields or substantial related experience, with preferred supervisory background and familiarity with banking operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or related area; or 4–6 years related experience.
• Experience with computer or accounting programs will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implements, controls, evaluates and improves all aspects of the Cage department with full accountability for financial planning and performance, protection and utilization of physical assets and supervision of employees in compliance with Dakota Sioux Casino policies and procedures.
• Responsible for coordinating the NIGC minimum internal controls and DSC internal controls as they pertain to the cage and to other casino departments.
• Responsible for proper usage and accuracy of appropriate transaction/reporting forms and cage summary sheets, vault and main bank inventory sheets and reconciliation reports.
• Safeguard the Casino assets.
• Responsible for making daily deposits according to the bank procedures.
• Responsible for the direct supervision of all cage employees and the implementation of the standard operating procedures.
• Act as custodian of records for cage department.
• Responsible for training cage employees.
• Maintain overall authority and control over all cage property and inventories.
• Cage Manager retains signatory authority to countersign all authorization forms.
• Other duties and responsibilities as necessary to fill the requirements of this position.

Required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or related area from a college or university; or 4 (four) to 6 (six) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

• Supervisory/managerial experience of 2 (two) years
• Accounting or banking operation experience

Other

• Must obtain a Key Gaming License.
• Experience with computer or accounting programs will be beneficial, Extensive computer use.
• Cage operates 24 hours a day; three shifts (Day, Swing, Graveyard). Must be flexible with work schedule.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
• Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time.
• Exposure to flashing lights, frequent loud noises, and cigarette smoke.
