Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting LLC is seeking an experienced Estimator for commercial drywall and interiors on Long Island, NY. The role focuses on front-end estimating activities, reviewing drawings, performing takeoffs, and building accurate estimates to help secure work.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in estimating, knowledge of NYC construction markets, and familiarity with estimating software. This position offers growth within a respected contractor and opportunities on large projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years experience estimating commercial drywall, metal framing, ceilings, and interior systems.
• Strong knowledge of the New York City construction market preferred.
• Background working on large commercial projects such as healthcare, education, institutional, and similar markets.
• Experience with estimating software such as Quick Bid, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, BuzzBid, or similar platforms.
• Ability to read drawings, perform detailed takeoffs, and manage multiple bids at once.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall and interior construction projects.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and review drawings/specifications.
• Analyze project scope, labor, materials, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.
• Work closely with project managers, leadership, clients, and trade partners.
• Review bid documents, identify risks, and provide accurate pricing strategies.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, project reviews, and turnover meetings.
• Help maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and vendors.
