Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Significant experience in drywall and metal stud framing.
• Proven track record estimating large-scale commercial projects independently.
• Extensive knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and related scopes.
• Proficiency with industry estimating software and takeoff tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial drywall, metal stud framing, and related interior/exterior systems.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Perform material takeoffs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Manage estimating process from bid review to proposal submission.
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, general contractors, and vendors for accurate pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain estimating documentation and bid tracking.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and bid reviews.
• Manage multiple estimates and meet bid deadlines.
• Provide estimating expertise and strategic recommendations on competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in specialty subcontractor estimating, can independently manage complex bids, and brings a thorough understanding of commercial construction materials, labor costs, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial drywall, metal stud framing, and related interior and exterior systems.
• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Perform material takeoffs and analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Manage the estimating process from initial bid review through final proposal submission.
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, general contractors, and vendors to ensure accurate project pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation, historical cost data, and bid tracking.

Qualifications

• Strong background working for a commercial drywall, framing, or specialty subcontracting company.
• Proven experience independently estimating large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and related interior construction scopes.
• Proficiency with industry estimating and takeoff software, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with internal project teams.
• Experience with complex commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction projects is a plus.
